To bring G&P alumni back to Yale, you need to do more than provide a reunion /nostalgia atmosphere. Graduate and professional types like us want to hear cutting edge faculty and other alumni in our fields.
This makes a lot of sense since we often have much more in common with fellow practitioners ten years older or younger than we do with classmates whom we have not seen or thought about since the previous reunion. This can't replace class reunion but I suspect that this would get the more "practically minded" alumni back to campus.

As a build-on to this idea, graduate and professional alumni gatherings need not be strictly school or departmental based. It would be more useful to bring alumni with varying degree backgrounds but common career interests together to address a theme or a problem and to network with each other across institutional lines.
