AYA should provide online community spaces for SIGs -- an online platform that SIGs can use to recruit, communicate, etc. Here are possible services:
1. MyYale web space for customizable, personal profiles
2. Online database to sort interests and narrow focus
3. Press kit and E-vite capability for publicizing SIG events
4. Welcome Wagon toolkit for new recruits
5. Real-time updates for addresses and particular interests
6. Email list for obits, birth announcements, job changes, etc.
Special Interest Group (SIG) web sites are great if they can find sponsors and people to maintain them. Perhaps this could be supported by the University as part of the online Carrer Netwook that Yale is trying to build. It would both bring people to the network ad give people on the network a useful resource.
