Cell Phone with Pedometer | |||||||||||||||||
There are many who clip their cell phones to their waist. Why not develop cell phones with pedometer functions in them? This way one can walk, talk(with hands free extension), and measure the distance they've walked and calories they've burned.

I was just thinking that those Pocket Pokemons that the kids used to "take care of" had a pedometer. You could even track by day.
Since there are plenty of cell phones out there already...what about designing an pedometer attachment for cell phones?
A variant of this idea that I was planning to post here: What about a combination pager and pedometer? A lot of people carry pagers and not cell phones.
Pagers ? Who needs a pager if there are cell phones ? In europe you can't find any pagers anymore ! I thought they were extinct. Mine is in a drawer since early 90ties, somewhere in the kitchen ! You couldn't renew my registration anymore back then.
There are phones with special functions, just activate them with some special software (like the "NETMONITOR" in the Nokia's). The functions vary from Thermometer to how many times you opened the slide and from the reception of an antenna to the name and number of an distribution antenna.
To build a moving part into a phone would take much space and would make the phone fragile !
A lot of cell phones come equipped with GPS. Perhaps a small software program could calculate total distance covered with info from the GPS.
