For those who are never at home and always have unannounced "pop-up" guest or who always have unwanted guest or who are just plain lazy....this is for you!

Just about all of us have some use voice mail/greeting systems with our telephones..Why not be able to tie in your voice mail/greeting system to the front door of your house?

Instead of someone popping up while you're not home, ringing the door bell forever, and then leaving.. They'll get your greeting and then could record a message which you could check with your cell phone or work phone.

I know this idea isn't for everyone but possibly very useful for a select group...

Voicemail\Front door linking would be great for deliveries. Its annoying to see a note on your door about missing a delivery. If it comes to the point of an important package that you must come down to the post office to pick up, you could effortlessly schedule picking up the package on your way home from work if you only knew it was there.

Turns out that we have this system, though not necessarily by design. Our front doorbell is connected to the phone system so the phones ring when there is someone at the door. If no one is home, they get our regular answering machine message. (For some odd reason, they have been getting out fax machine as of late which leaves them quite confused.)
