When recording athletic or sports events or when hands are occupied by, say, driving a car or manipulating instruments, frequently a valuable photo eludes capture because it is not convenient or possible to snap a quick photo. If a lightweight helmet were designed incorporating a digital camera with a finder screen mounted over one eye so that vision were not badly obstructed for normal seeing, an actuater mounted to operate when the operator flicked a tongue or bit down on a mouthpiece could capture events normally too ephemeral for normal photography.

This could be a component of an extreme-sports verion of the Wetsuit w/ camara & cell phone idea, and a part of the developing virtual Shared Reality that we will enjoy when we are all running around recording, transmitting and sharing our live experiences with high resolution audio and video.
Man if there was a system like that around, I'd buy it right now!!! I've been using the "xtreme package" from Xtreme Recall...I do a ton of xtreme sports and it comes with a carrier to protect the camcorder, first time I've seent that. Best thing around that I've seen. They're site is www.xtremerecall.com
Agreed. We we only use Xtreme Recall now too.
As a new comer to this site, I conceived the same idea 2006, but two concepts: digital camera, the other is a miniature camcorder and now in the process of building boths gadgets that are lightweight and waterproof.
