We currently have(1) Candidate's answering questionaires about candidates views (talk shows, League of Women Voters questionaire...(2) Voters answering questions about voter views (polls)

WHY NOT(3)Have a web site where voters can answer series of questions on their (voter) position on issues THEN get answer (sorted) of candidate with most similiar views? (Similiar to web search on key word) + full public disclosure of candidate views (100% auditable by candidate staff at any time)+ full autonomy of voter+ Ranking for voter of all candidates (perhaps with voter "weighting" on litmus test (to that voter)) issue..

Interesting; however, doubtful that you would attract a representative cross-section of voters if you were to try and use the information as poll-gathering.

A simliar mechanism exists on the internet with the matching of beliefs and religions. Users answer questions about their own personal beliefs(ie the nature of God, physical or nonphysical? afterlife or not? etc) and the programs spits out the major religions (Hinduism, Buddhism etc) that most closely match the user's beliefs.

Of course I don't know how many conversions this site has prompted, but its results can sometimes be enlightening.

Already exists. Search around the web, I'm sure you'll find it.
