One of the main drawbacks with waterbeds is their weight. They are extremely heavy. This might be remedied by filling a sealed mattress with unattached vinyl bubbles. If water is added once the bed is setup, a large percentage of the fill would be the bubbles which would float in the water and subtract a major portion of the weight from the fill.
