Now here's an idea: 360 degree goggles. it may seem like youd need a computer directly attached to the brain but its actually quite simple. Picture this: there's 9 cameras on a elastic band encircling around your head there is a screen in front of your eyes that all of the pictures vertically compressed into your visual range.

My 10-year-old son posted this idea. Cool, huh?

It may be a useful idea, but 9 cameras are a bit excessive.

Humans and other primates have two eyes in the front, so they can see in 3D. This arrangement is most common for predators which chase other animals, but in primates it has helped us jump from tree limb to tree limb(hard to do that without depth perception). Other animals, which are commonly prey, have their two eyes on the opposite sides of the head. This gives them a 360 degree field of view, but they lack depth perception. So you only need two cameras, and you sacrifice 3-D vision. This could be valuable in certain circumstances(360 vision but no depth perception), but I wouldn't wear it all of the time. It would depend on the situation. In particular, this might help someone in a sort of surveillance function(analogous to its use in prey animals).

Kudos to your son, a very clever concept.
