Sometimes it would be nice to know who shared a liking (or disliking) of a particular idea. So I propose that at the bottom of each idea, there should also be a list of the members who liked the idea, and which members objected to it. The intention is not that individuals could misuse this information, but rather that posters could start to know each other’s preferences faster. As it stands, each member’s voting record is already published under that member’s contributions page, so it is possible (but tedious) to reconstruct this information. Such functionality should eventually help in building a sense of community quicker, and the positives should outweigh the negatives by far. Some could object to this idea because of privacy concerns, but since there is no private information published here, this should not be an issue. Another concern could be that someone could decide to take revenge against another poster’s negative vote, by now voting negative on all further ideas of that person. However, a totally open site would quickly spot and correct such behavior (since it would immediately become clear by just looking at the offender’s voting record).

Any of the ideas associating an idea, comment, vote, etc, on this site with a particular user should be an opt-in feature (more checkboxes) if implemented, regardless if private information is stored here.
anonymity has it's benefits. a secret ballot isn't such a bad idea.
