VCR with web interface | |||||||||||||||||
Many people get internet access through cable modems. It would be convenient for VCRs and DVD recorders to have a web interface so that you could program them remotely over the internet. If you forget to set your machine, or hear about a program you want to record, then you can tell your machine to do that from anywhere.

You can/might be able to do that with Tivo and/or Replay.
IMO, it is not worth it for further innovation to VCRs, but IMO, and interim solution would be to have a web interface/IR control box that that can control any existing or VCR in general, instead of desiging a VCR to specifically have web programmability. Also useful in the device to include the ability to control the VCR from a digital phone.
