RFID for drawings | |||||||||||||||||
Especially old mylar or even linen originals. They are easily misfiled, if they are filed at all. And even when they are filed, not rolled up together, it isn't easy to see the Drawing Number. An RFID would let you find them when misfiled, or even at large in the cube farm.

RFID for legal evidence as well.It is a little expensive now, and RFID have very poor RF communication thru metal filing cabinets, but it will be coming. Probably can locate the document / drawing with a little LED flashing light or handheld locator.I am just finishing a provisional patent on a different use if RFIDs and have read over 1,000 items on RFID during the past 12 months.
What an excellent idea, hlahore! Thanks for your comment.
I like this idea for medical filing. Medical staff commonly misplace files and point at each other. If each person checking a file out had to be accountable for it, Great!
