No Static Sponge/Hand Cream | |||||||||||||||||
Not a brilliant concept, but it's about time someone create a way to avoid being shocked by everything one touches in the winter. A sort of elastic rubber that comes in several sizes or could be cut to specifications. These rubber covers could be placed on such conductors as: doorknobs, lamp switches, faucets, handles, etc. For the person who wants to be able to protect himself anywhere, there would be the No Static Sponge, which would be a few square inches of rubbery material that would serve as a buffer between the person and the metal. Next: No Static GLOVES! An improvement would be a cream that one could lather into his hands that would suppress electric shocks. We're onto something, eh??

People who handle integrated circuits (ICs) often put antistatic cots on their fingers for just this purpose. I don't know if you can buy them on the consumer market.
