I think the benefit is one less work hour on a Friday afternoon.Unfortunately, since businesses are 'in-session' it would be confusing as you cross time zones. Then there are those independent locations that do not recognize daylight saving.
By the way - how did daylight savings ever catch on in the first place?and isn't it a little like cutting a foot off the bottom of the blanket and sewing it onto the top?
I am all for the elimination of Daylight Savings Time.I lived for a few years in Europe, where they do not mess with DST. I found it to be kind of interesting the first summer, what with the sun up until 10:30 PM.Ever since returning to the States I have spoken out against DST. Seems most people don't care enough to try to change it.

Can you give a little insight into why this would be better than the current time change happening at 3am on Saturday?

It caught on before electric lights, to provide more light in the working day.
I think the reason for daylight savings time has passed. It would be easier on all of us if we declared an end to it.
Supposedly it saves energy, but I wonder what the cost is in tired drivers, missed engagements and scheduling issues for 24X7 operations?
I've never ever ever benefitted from Daylight Savings Time. I've only found it annoying.
It seems we live in a world advanced enough technologically to dispense with this relic.
