Why not have a confirmation series of letters and/or numbers that the sender must type in prior to sending the email. This way a computer wouldn't be able to replicate what a person can do. I wouldn't mind having to type in a few characters before sending an email. Here is an example of what I'm talking about http://youngpup.net/index Click on the link for email on the bottom left of the main page.

Guess what! Yahoo just implemented this idea! It only took me an additional second to send my email and now any idiot using yahoo mail to spam can't. Good job Yahoo!

The problem with this is that spam doesn't have to be sent from yahoo, hotmail, or any other one of the many big name mail services. People can set up their own SMTP accounts on their home computer, and send email with their computer as the domain. The person's dns would change every time they connected if they had dial up, and they could renew it if they had cable (sometimes). So really, there is no way to stop someone from sending you unsolicited email if they were really determined. So im afraid youre going to have to put in that extra effort to hit the delete key once again.
