ThumbMarker | |||||||||||||||||
How often have you read a book trying to mark key sentences/passages. Throw in reading:- in a plane/train; - paperback version; - keeping the book open;- turning pages; and - trying to mark the relevant pieces ... and it becomes a real hassle. A ThumbMarker may go a long way towards solving this predicament. A contraption on you thumb (possibly with a velcro edge for easy mounting/discmunting) coud have a short pencil/market attached for marking. Also, such a contraction could have a miniature version of 3M's Post-it index attached for marking pages.

Is it that hard to hold a pen or pencil the usual way?I too used to mark up and underline my books, but I now use a 3x5 card instead. You write the page number of the part you want to remember, with maybe a few words to remind yourself of the topic. The card also is a convenient bookmark, and after you're finished with the book, you can file the card for future reference. Later you could go back through the book and transcribe the parts you noted.(Did I read about this system somewhere, or did I invent it? I'm not sure now. But it works well).
