Here's a pretty benign use for the facial recognition stuff in this month's Wired. You could use a camera cellphone, snap pictures of an acquaintance when introduced, and record a short message to your future self. Next time you see _____?, you get another shot, and the cellphone plays the message associated with that face back to you, like: "Pete Johnson: don't ask about that bandaid." or "Emily Postlethwaite: air-kiss and mention her cats Fluffy, Bingo, and Petey." or whatever seems important about that person.
