Phase 1Each spot at a parking lot will be be attached with a sensor. When a car enters the parking lot, the entrace shows the available spots and will even suggest the nearest availble spot (printed in the ticket ). I had lot of trouble finding a parking spot at OHARE airport.Phase 2Tickets will be electronically writable. After parking the car, user will go and swipe the card at the corresponding sensor. All the spot info will be written into the card. When user comes to pick the car, a machine will read the card and let the user know where his/her car is.

Yes, terrific idea. I have been thinking about this same problem. I like your solution. If there is a swipe point at the parking spot, why not also make payment and validate the ticket at the parking spot. Then, exiting the lot will be quicker.
Great idea, the new Toronto Airport Terminal 1 does have a system in place that guides cars to available parking spaces by using arrows that state the number of spots available in that direction. But being able to find your car afterwards could be an interesting idea.
Great idea. Perhaps lasers mounted on the same poles as the lights could project arrows onto the pavement.
Great idea! This should be implemented in the parking lot only, not the cars, so that there is no equipment to fuss with, although a link to common GPS devices could be easily added. Also, you could photo license plates to find which cars were in which spaces, and use the same guide system with arrows to help lost drivers back to their cars.
I LOVE THIS IDEA!!!!! With todays society surrounding the ever important car this would come in handy.
