You know those water dispensers they have at your office or even at home, where they give you really big jugs that you have to turn over and put on a water dispenser? I've seen alot of people struggle with these because they're so darn heavy (for some people) and the water starts gushing out before you can even get it into the darn dispenser.

Anyway, I was thinking that they should put some kind of cover on these jugs so that when you turn them over, it doesn't spill. Next, place some kind of spike inside the water dispenser so that once you've placed the jug on top, the spike pops the cover off. No spills, no mess, just a cup of water.

This was done years ago, as well as making smaller square jugs with a handle which are easier to manage.

I should have included this link earlier.

It was quite difficult to find any info online about these systems, but we have had them in Canada for at least 7 years. It is very successful, so obviously it's a good idea. Your thinking is good.

My business used a dispenser from Carrabassett Springs in Maine, since 1998--still with those big huge jugs but they have a seal that is pierced once you place it on the dispenser.
