There is often a situation where you are running late for a flight and someone else is sitting at the airport because they are early and having to wait for their flight for hours. You end up missing your flight and the other person is still sitting endlessly waiting for theirs.

Surley there must be a way through internet connection or for local flights, the cell phone sms tool to send a notice to the airline of your situation and they can shuffle around to accommodate both parties. I am sure the technology would be complicated, but their must be an IT logisitics guru out there who can make this happen?
