Kids, Pets and Sitting | |||||||||||||||||
What if pet sitting and baby sitting combined to create - A unique sitting experience for kids and pets? Playful pets would love the attention from the kids and the kids would not be bored around the pets. Yes, I know it would take certain pets, kids, parents, and supervision for this to work. After school progams could be combined with pet boarding. Kids could learn how to care for the animals and again most pets love kids. You could possibly throw the elderly in the mix and combine adult day care, child care, and pet sitting to create an intersting day care. This idea might appeal to parents who think their pets or kids might enjoy each others company.

Assuming that every pet and child allowed in were carefully screened, and the staff were well-trained in BOTH pet and child care, this could be an interesting idea. It would have to be done carefully to be done right, though; and if it's not done right, it could be disastrous.
One thing - there could be major legal problems if a child were hurt by one of the pets, even accidentally. Many shelters don't allow children to volunteer with the animals, even with a parent, until they're 16 or even older because of this.
