Reverse Help Wanted Ads | |||||||||||||||||
I supervise an employment agency for persons with disabilities. One of the ideas that I've come up with involves creating "Help Available" ads. The ads consist of a listing of individuals looking for work. We include each person's work strengths, relevant experiences, and a synopsis of their personality traits. We send the ads to targeted employers. I've received some pretty positive responses from employers.

I think a "help available" classifieds would be very useful for linking students to employers. Students could post their services as available and small business employers would be attracted because of the lower offers they could make to students who are happy to work to build experience, their resume and make "ends meat".
I like this idea. I'd structure it so that the available candidates skills and ACCOMPLISHMENTS are summarized in a standard format. No names, company names or raw resumes would be available until the hiring client has selected the few candidates he is interested in. This might go a long way to helping end the blatant discrimination against people over 40 and automatic elimination from consideration simply because someone had the misfortune to have to move from one job to another too often.
I'm a "change jobs" a lot person... :)
Anyway, I like the idea, but who would pay for it? Isn't the point that the unemployed have no money?
Just curious... otherwise, I like the idea..! :)
If I were in charge of any kind of employment agency, I would think having access to such a listing would help me screen candidates. Also any major employer doing hiring on a large scale, I think, would find such a listing worthwhile.
I have seen want ads in papers but this idea is a bit different. Cool.
Very good idea, most of us are tired of surfing the web applying for help, when most of the time we do not even receive a reply, let alone help!

They already have this in a lot of places. It's good.
