During the last 15 years the geo-political structure of the world has changed significantly enough to justify re-thinking of how the United Nations works. Why not consider a more equitable and uniform balance of membership? For example, you could "chunk up" and make the European Union represent one member as a more relevant voice for the european continent. Or alternatively, you could have individual states of the US become self representative as equal counterparts to the smaller countries which now make up the brunt of the United Nations. Either way, the dialogue becomes more balanced than what exists today. Hopefully, by better balance the UN also becomes more relevant and effective.

I agree, UN is a relic of ColdWar era. It should be revised and reorganized. But due to the shere size of it it could be a chalange. And I think that current power bases, G8 would have a problem with it.
