Zip Codes on Location Websites | |||||||||||||||||
Many travel services on the web that give driving directions require users to enter the zip codes or street addresses of starting and ending locations. However, since travelers heading to or from locations such as airports, hospitals, stadiums, etc. may not know the location zip codes or street addresses, they can't directly use those web services. Until these services get more sophisticated, it would be a boon to travelers if locations like those mentioned above posted their zip codes prominently on the home pages of their websites.

There are numerous ZIP locators online, most notably one from the USPS. Also, I've never heard of a map service requiring postal codes. Yahoo! and MapQuest don't.
