Why not add the calorie counting features of a treadmill to gardening tools so people can measure the number of calories they burned while gardening?

Think about the calories one burns from using: Push Lawn MowersLawn MowersShovelsHoesRakesBroomsShears

Then there are a couple of household chores that can burn calories think about the use of:MopsVacums

Why not add calorie tracking features to those items also?

Active Baby Boomers and Baby Boomers who are trying to loose weight might find such products appealing.

You mentioned lawnmowers. As an engineer I had to know how far I walk when I push my lawnmower. I attached my GPS to the lawnmover and found that I walk 2.17 miles each time I mow the lawn and average 2.2 MPH. The measurement had the side benefit of know how my square feet I had of lawn.

true but wouldn't you be burning more calories because you're pushing a lawnmore vs. just walking? Is there not some extra resistance involved there? It's like comparing lifting weights with 5lbs. vs. lifting weights with 20lbs. - same amount of repititons safe to assume you burn more with the 20lbs, no? Covering the same square footage you burn more calories pushing a mower vs. walking alone. I am wrong here?
