Push-button recording | |||||||||||||||||
Many times when I am listening on the radio to a discussion there is a reference to a web site or a telephone number for further information or reference. The mention is usually too quick to grab a pencil and make a note and my quick memory is too fleeting to get an accurate write down so I miss the information. If there were a tape cassette in the radio always ready to record the information and merely required a button push to make a quick record it would be very helpful.

You could keep a tape in your radio, with the recording paused. Then, just hit the pause button.
Why doesn't some company sell a radio that has "tivo-like" cababilities? (You could automatically record channels at certain times of the day or even be able to rew/pause/ffd music while listening to it.)

This type of thing is available in some mobile phones whithout a casette, so the technology is there.
I think I've seen something similar, a combination cordless phone/answering machine/caller ID/AM-FM/cassette recorder/alarm radio clock. Made in China, of course. I didn't buy it because it lacked a CD player.
