Seatbelt Wearing Discount | |||||||||||||||||
Why don't auto insurance companies offer a discount on the medical coverage portion of auto insurance to those drivers who declare themselves seat belt users? This would be similar to the discount on life insurance for non-smokers. If the insured was injured in an accident without wearing a seatbelt, they would receive limited or no medical coverage. This may not incentivize people to wear their seatbelts, but at least society would not have to pay for their decision.

IMO it would be a little tough to prove one wears their belt.
However one could give the customer the benefit of the doubt, and remove such a discount should they ever get a ticket for not wearing a belt.
