MS Word Bookmarks & Summaries | |||||||||||||||||
You know those little colored adhesive flags that you can use to tab textbooks? Why doesn't Gates allow you to "tab" Word documents while you are reading/editing them. They could appear to "hang off" the sides of the page (right side if they are on pages "after" the one you're on and left side (faded?) if you've already "passed" the page). Clicking on the tab would return you to the page you tabbed, of course. I use tabs like a fiend on real books, why can't I embrace my obsession electronically where I'm not limited to 5 colors?? Come on Bill -- help me out! I'd also like it if MSFT would help me by "summarizing" highlighted sections of text (of course this also includes links and citing page/paragraph numbers next to the quotes). This way I could highlight questions or unfinished sections while I read the document and print out a summary list when I'm done automatically.

MS Word Bookmarks are a wonderful idea. In fact, I had suggested something similar on this forum. The idea was to include ability to add bookmarks on to the scrollbar itself. Since the scroll bar indicates which portion of the document you are currently on, the scrollbar bookmarks would give you a definitive idea of all your important sections. You can easily jump from one section to another by clicking on the bookmarks.
The same for websites, PDF documents, and such.
