I always park every single new car I have ever purchased far away from any other cars and it still happens. I get a door ding!
There should to be a way to purchase seperate "door ding" insurance. It is needed. When I take my car to get the dings fixed I have to come out the pocket a lot.
And I'm not talking about dents that can be removed with those paintless dent removal systems. I'm talking about the real "door dings" where people open their door and dig in to your paint and put a dent.
I would gladly pay an extra $2 or $3 a month with a $50 deductible to insure against this. Can such a insurance company be set up?

They already have it. Dent Wizard, which i believe is a national company, does offer door ding insurance.

EVERYONE gets door dings. But not everyone gets them fixed, because it is expensive... and you just collect more when the old ones are removed.
Insurance companies are in business to make money... so if they were to insure you, you'd want to put in a claim, right? You and the other 1,000,000 insured prople who have dings. So... either the insurance company would go broke... or they'd have to charge a high premium rate for the insurance. You'd end up paying more than you would if you just got them fixed yourself.
So... what to do...As most cars get dings, the only "insurance" is to find something that prevents dings in the first place. In your case, get the dings removed ($$$) and then get something that defends against dings.

There are other alternatives to using a comprehensive insurance company. Dent wizard offers a policy but it has many limitations (including size and location) and you can only have the work performed by dent wizard techs, many of whom are fresh out of training. I found this ocmpany to have the best program and it's fun too! You can file a claim online and they use proven techs nationwide to do the repairs. Check out the website:www.dingmonkey.com
Paintless dent repair is generally half the cost of the conventional repair. Our company www.elimidents.com prices start out at $35.00 on up. We specialize in hail damage and larger dents that other dent companies cannot repair. Call our references, before and after pictures available upon request. Some of our dealers do have ding insurance up to 5 years, also available to purchase in different locations nationwide.Professional detailing and many other services available
I agree about the DingMonkey protection. I am an agent for their product as well as a PDR technician. The DingMonkey protection has far greater coverage as well as having a more skilled technician base to do the repairs. Nationaldentworks.com
Don't use dingmonkey. A buddy of mine in Austin bought their program and then when he tried to use it, they never called him back. After he tried reaching them about 20 times and threatening to call the BBB, they finally sent him to the dealer to have his tiny dent fixed. When he got there, the repair guy told him it wasn't covered by the insurance. Total scam.
My recomendation would be to read carefully what the conditions and limitations are under any agreement. Most "problem" cases or what peope believe are "scams" have an underlying detail that are left out. For example, undisclosed collision, hail damage, angry spouce with a 12 inch boot mark in the driver door, etc, etc, etc. In most cases, no questions are asked other than verification of coverage and validation of membership. The best thing to do is get DingMonkey Protection because you never know when the Monkey is gonna get ya!
I love how companies post their own accolades. The response to my post is clearly from someone at Dink Monkey. I think these guys are saying that the poor customer service they give is due to people not reading their contract. Typical insurance company BS. Obviously the Monkey got my buddy good. Caveat Emptor!
