In response to the listing: Car Headlights [P0005]

Countless car batteries have succumbed to the carelessness of car owners who leave their headlights on. What's the best way to tackle this problem?

Simply put a cutout relay to isolate all battery users, based on either, or both, time delay and voltage drop. Beyond the acceptable limits the relay would cut all users off from the battery, thus avoiding all further drain, and retaining sufficient energy in the battery to start the motor. The relay woud only be reactivated by introduction of the ignition key. I am sure one could develop an even smarter electronic solution. Too easy!
