When using a new piece of software such as Photoshop or Illustrator or even Word, the obvious way to accomplish special tasks is to refer to the menus with the mouse but this takes a bit of time and after the user becomes acquainted with the keyboard equivalents such as ctrl c for copy or ctrl v for paste, things go much faster. If a right click on a menu option would offer the keyboard equivalent the learning process would come much more quickly and the keyboard control would more rapidly become the preferred option so that the time and nuisance of going back and forth to the mouse would be minimized.

Alright, where's the ctrl/shift/del buttons ... just kidding
ctrl c-x-v are almost universal now. My web browesr (Firefox)has keyboard shortcuts given.
Most applications that support keyboard shortcut equivalents of menu items will show the keyboard equivalent to the right of the menu item text.
