'New baby smell' perfume | |||||||||||||||||
Every mother knows and loves the smell of her new baby. The idea is to capture this smell as a perfume or other fragrance so that after the baby is older, you can remind yourself of the baby's smell at any time. As is well known, smell is the most powerful way to evoke old memories. How it would work: With modern techniques (Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry) you can capture and reproduce any odor quite accurately. For example, this is used for cloning perfumes or floral scents. For a reasonable fee (say $200) you could apply the same technique to a sample taken from a baby, generate the fragrance, and supply it to the parents.

err, whilst cool, also slightly freaky.
I want it! It would help in the let down reflex for pumping, also.
As the father of two kids I am not entranced by the odor of rancid milk combined with the fragrance of whatever results from the end results of digestive processes.
