Audio sedative for insomniacs | |||||||||||||||||
When I have trouble sleeping I find that listening to books on tape sends me out right away -- something about being read to. So, for serious insomniacs, why not find the world's most boring voices and record them reading from Kant or something. This would make a very powerful sedative (it might even be too strong for over-the-counter use, and would have to be available only by prescription)

I have international public talk radio available, nevermind all American talk channels (not that I listen to them).
Books on tape actually keep me awake; I find it hard not to pay attention to them.
On the other hand, listening to a Pure Moods CD, or the music from Mechwarrior 2, works just fine.
