I saw this one on a big 'ol lincoln or caddie. Much eaiser to see the turn signal from behind because light on side mirror sticks out... and it is possible to recess the light so that it does not distract the driver

whatever happened to the good ol' hand signals ? They were pretty easy to see - during the daylight hours !

Mercedes Benz already do this and have done so for a couple of years. I guess its patented hence lack of imitation among other car makers

It's not patented, due to being a tad obvious and with oodles of prior art lying around. It's just a style thing.
