Humanity Day | |||||||||||||||||
There should be an international holiday that pays respect to every person who died in a war or massacre, every person oppressed, and every person living in poverty. Call it, "Humanity Day," and schedule it for December 26th. So on the day after billions of people have joyous celebration and are generous to their family and friends, they can be generous to that guy on the street and that woman living under the bridge.

Not a terrible idea, but I don't see a reason to tie it to Christianity in that way.
Keep in mind that the average person will spend about as much time pondering and appreciating the plight of mankind on Humanity Day as they do contemplating Martin Luther King on his holiday. (Which is to say, maybe for about five seconds, if the ski-lift lines are particularly long.)
this is the best idea I have ever heard. I mean we have a day for the earth, but the earth isn't going anywhere, humans are if we don't change the way we are. but why make it just a day, why not a month. I can tell you why there is no such day as this, because corporate america can't make money off of it. Earth day they can doing all their stupid little things. Awesome idea!
