Like the IMDB but then for politicians, parties, organizations, speeches, laws, etc...

The "Internet Politicians Data Base" provides users with an easy wealth of data on individual politicians.

This way you know which laws a particular politician voted for, what causes he supports, what his affiliations are, how his opinion changed over time, etc... Included are "speeches", "publications", "scandals" etc... And a function to compare politicians on certain topics.

All this material is publicly available. All we need is a nice structure like that of the IMDB.

Mike, you are right. I hadn't found that one.

So let's just delete this idea.

Try Project Vote-Smart http://vote-smart.org

OpenSecrets.org is a good place to start if you want to track Finances. As far as voting records and bills, it's tough to find anything more than Senate and House sites...which I beleive are intentionally hard to navigate.
