Here are some ideas I have for improving the Oregonian. More will be added at www.moregonian.com

The Oregonian website - should be hosted and created by the Oregonian - we could use better graphics, archives and search function - the Oregonian says it's here to help Oregonians' businesses, currently the website is pretty useless

To get to the website you have to get past a page that asks for information. Please no!

Better local reporting - less reliance on stories from AP and Reuters

Any website that asks who I am before it lets me in is much too exclusive for me. I just leave them to their snobbery.

Here's what I've come up with so far.

Moregonian.com

Top ten changes we'd like to see at the Oregonian

The Oregonian website - should be hosted and created by the Oregonian - we could use better graphics, archives and search function - the Oregonian says it's here to help Oregonians' businesses, currently the website is... well, it could be improved from looking and feeling like a small-town paper's website to one like other big city newspapers have... See the Seattle Times, The New York Times as examples of good site.

Better local reporting - less reliance on stories from AP and Reuters

When you go to www.oregonian.com - it should take you to the frigging homepage of the paper!

For those of us looking for work, how about the ability to have a bot let us know when a job that matches our search criteria is available - say on a daily or weekly basis?

How about an article in Spanish or other locally used languages for people whose first language is not English? A whole section for those of us interested in learning Spanish once in a while would be cool!

More direct endorsements of positions - less backhandedness/passive-aggressiveness

Your thoughts here :) More to follow at
