Better, Cheaper 411 service | |||||||||||||||||
I want to know what you smart people think about having (for a small monthly fee such as $5-10 per number) an information service that you can call. This service would provide you with unlimited usage and would offer a telephone number search service (just like the current 1411 service) as well as movie locations and times, restaraunts, entertainment listings, hours of operations of businesses and other similar services including quick internet searches. This would be a better option to the $1.25 per call 1411 service that is currently available. Would you sign up for something like this? Give me total feedback on this please. Thanks.

Google: "phone search" Read various options. I use Yahoo or Google for all local information. I have never dialed 1411 and don't know where I put the paper phone directory. As people shift to VOIP and web service over cell phones, I see no future for such a service. Sorry.
I agree with sevans. Yahoo and Google are both very effective at finding telephone numbers you want. Sometimes even numbers that are unlisted in the phone book and through 411.
There *is* a segment of the market that dials 411 many times a month and for good reason. Typically, these are travelling sales people that manage their contact activity between face-to-face meetings. They typically spend 4 to 6 hours a day behind the wheel with hands-free cell connectivity. I suspect this target audience is easy to reach and probably spend alot of cash on 411 services.
