Front Window Defroster | |||||||||||||||||
I have a rear-window defroster that works well, very quickly, on those icy or frosty mornings. Why cannot I have a similar one for my front window, rather than having to wait a long time until the engine heats up enough to blow hot air on the inside of the window?

It would obscure you vision, at least with the type used in rear windows. You might be able to use what supermarket coolers use.
Years ago friend of mine had a truck with an electric heater element in the defroster duct. This heated up immediately, just like a hair dryer.
I have no idea where he got it.
This morning there was some ice on my car. It seemed to take for ever, even with much scraping, for my front window to clear of the ice until it was safe enough to drive off, while my rear window cleared very quickly using the car's defroster.
Again, I ask about the feasibility of a frontwindow rapid defroster.
Ford motor Co. had this on their Taurus and Sable lines in the 80's and 90's, my family had a car with it on it, very expensive to replace by the way.
This was a long, hard winter here in Canada. Most mornings entailed much windscreen scraping, in the freezing cold. When, oh when will my suggestion be invented?
I've driven a '98 Dodge Caravan with an electric window defroster on the windshield, but it was only down low, under the wipers. I didn't have the opportunity to test them, since it was warm.
