So every summer you hear of wildfires that ravage multi-million dollar secluded homes in the forests all over the country... sometimes with warning and sometimes without to the homeowners.

If a box were placed on the roof, with a compressed air cannon type system that deployed weights connected to a fireproof blanket (such as the firefighters use if they are caught in the fire) to cover the house, the risk of severe damage may go down significantly.

The boxes would have to be somewhat customized to each home, but with many of the nice homes that are destroyed by these fires, you would think it may be an affordable option.

You could either control it via a wireless cellular type device, or via temperature sensors located at the far perimeters of the property. If a temp sensor goes over 200, the system deploys.

I'd develop the idea personally if my finances were in order... but alas, most of the great inventions are probably passed by due to lack of funding!

It would be simpler to just make the homes at possible risk use fire resistant or proof building materials.

I think the way your going is nice, but its just to pricey and hard to set up. Plus, only rich people could afford it, so it wouldn't do anything for people with smaller amounts of money.
