this is perhaps an idea for ebay... an on-line "yard-sale" that is searchable by neighborhoods. Would have to be organized at a fairly micro level (street names or subdivisions of a town, maybe zip codes). This would work just like ebay but would limit searches and have browsing capability just for a limited geographic area. This would be a great service for home owners that want to have a yard sale, without going to the trouble of a yard sale. People could browse their geographic area. If they see something they like -- it's in the neighborhood -- the distribution process is very much simplified. (distribution limited to purchaser pick-up).
