How to motivate the newspaper delivery person to put the paper near the porch, instead of tossing it out on the lawn, under the bushes, or in a snowbank? How about putting a big red envelope on the porch steps every evening, with his name on it, containing a small sum of money. This would force him to the location you want the paper to be left. If hewas in a real hurry, or felt it was too much effort, it would cost him say 10 or 25 cents a day. This method also would let you compensate him for really bad weather conditions, by leaving a little extra in the envelope when it is pouring rain, or snowing. Or on holidays, as a tip. The envelope could be reuseable.

Ok for back then. I get my news from Yahoo. Haven't subscribed to a newspaper for ten years. Got tired of looking at news I read the day before on the web.
My paper delivery person puts the paper between the doors. That's where I asked him to put it.
Oh, yeah. . .I tip him whenever I get up early enough on Saturday to see him and give him a $25 check at Christmas too.
Maybe somebody can answer me this question. I have seen this phenomenom in films and TV programmes from the US. Newspapers are thrown at the house, instead of being delivered. Why do they do this?
Everywhere I have lived they put the newspapers in the letter box, just like the letters.
Answer: If they don't put it in the letter box, don't pay them, because they haven't "delivered" it, which is what you pay for :-)
