encrypted mail addresses | |||||||||||||||||
Imagine a business similar to netflix where a rental business mails a product to a customer via the mail, and instead of mailing the product back to the company, the first customer sends the product directly to the next customer. The problem is that would effectively require the publishing of the customer lists, and the buying habits of people. So, the solution is for the post office to accept encrypted addresses, that they would be able to decrypt and send onto the specified address. The address encryption could be unique, and recorded, thus providing a way to report back to the business that the product was forwarded onto the next customer. Also, no two different hashes of an address would likely be the same. To get continue participating in the rental business, the first customer could buy the product, by not sending it onto another customer, or get a rebate on their next rental by going to a website and printing a encrypted barcode which would be the address for the next customer. Since the business knows where people live, they could save postage costs, by specifying a near-by customer, instead of sending the product all the way back to the distribution center. This should reduce postage costs by more than half, since half of the postal trips are required, and also because the length of the trip is greatly reduced. While digital media can be downloaded, it might be more efficient to send data via mail. Also, this technique would be helpful for non-digital product.
