Sitting/standing desk | |||||||||||||||||
People get tired after working for a very long time at their desks; they need to switch from "sitting mode" to "standing mode" and vice versa. How about designing a desk in such a way so that it can be moved up or down, depending on what's comfortable for the user? [based on Caleb Nei @ idea-a-day.com]

This is an excellent idea! It is one that I have thought about many times. I think that it could revolutionize the work place. I sit a lot at work and have felt the health problems from having to sit continually. If you desire, please contact me about this. I have some ideas. It may be as simple as promoting the use of barstool height chairs and moving the table in your cubicle to the highest level. That way you could either sit or stand, depending on what you feel.
Why not add one more posture for best relaxation - lying. Your creation might be flattened to become flat as bed so that one can lie down and relax one's back. BTW I have thought of adding a reminder for self which reminds me to exercise my neck, eyes or go for a drink after every 45 minutes during work! Good luck.
