How about adding a new feature to (TV) remote controls: specifically, one that takes a "picture" of the screen so that whenever there is a needed telephone number, URL address, etc., you wouldn't need to write it down? And marketers can help subsidize the cost of this added feature!

I remember having an old television with Picture-in-Picture that had that option. I used to freeze the more scandelous shows on HBO. This was in the early nineties.
I think with DVRs, this technology is already here (but limited to those who own DVRs). It's more practical there than as a standard TV item - you'll miss what's going on in the meantime since there is no recording buffer.
