How about an SUV without all the extras that are really useless in an urban enviroment, saving cost and fuel?

Or am I wrong, and just thinking of a minivan?

The concept is good but consumers have a large appetite for things they do not use so often. Most SUVs have 4X4 gear boxes, electric Winches etc. Are these things really necessary in the urban environment?

I think what you're describing sounds more like a "cross-over", they're actually in vogue these days.
