Why not have a blue tooth remote control that would work without really having to point onto the TV or home theatre sensor. Blue tooth works effectively within a radius of 10m and therefore it would be possible to switch off the TV from the bedroom rather than having to go and point a remote control onto the TV to turn it off.

This would be a great way of remotely controlling gargets from anywhere in the house.

It's good for both the lazy and busy people who both also do not like the idea of moving up and down the house to perform a simple task like turning off the TV.

Manufacturers this is the kind of stuff I look forward to.

Errm dude, why would one turn off a TV using a remote, from another room? Do you put the remote in your pocket and then forget about it?

Oops sorry bout the double post, my PC screwed up.

Some devices use RF remotes (or may have RF remote kits available).

Otherwise you can get RF universal remotes, or adapters which make normal IR remotes RF, which either type comes with a receiver base that receives the RF and transmits IR for the equipment to receive. One would do this to control the likes of cable/satellite receivers, DVD players, DVRS and such from another room.

I'm looking for a Bluetooth in IR out controller to work with the EyeTV 200. The problem is that it is difficult to sync the computer with the Set Top Box on Satalite systems. Setup for recording requires not only programming the EyeTV (on the computer) but also setting up a Timer on the Set Top box for the same info. What is needed is a program to scan the EyeTV folder and find programs about to be viewed or recorded and then use Bluetooth to send information to a remote controller which would then use InfraRed to relay the info to the Set Top box.

I dream about house where I can control every TV, hi-fi, light, heating, water via computer. It could be easy to connect using bluetooth. But first I think TV should have Bluetooth port to control it via computer, make screenshots or even record TV transmission on computer. I'm interested in electronics and I'm planning to make remote control of my TV from computer using infrared.
