How about having music CD/DVD/Player where one can either play the music and mute the lyrics or play the lyrics and mute the music? Sometimes I just want background instrumental music and no lyrics.

You can kinda do that now, but it is kinda crude.
To do it properly would require that the record companies release 4 channel titles, two for the instrumental track, two for vocals, and appropriate player software/hardware by created.
To extend that, have like a 16 channel system where I could play recording engineer and remix my favorite records.
