American Autobahn | |||||||||||||||||
I think it would be awesome to have a few highways going from cali to texas, then to florida, then to ny, and back to cali. And make it somewhat like the current autobahn so people would be able to drive at high speeds. But, I do think however that the drivers should have to get a special license to drive on these highways. I predict something like this within 20 years.

Although it is an expensive solution, this seems an excellent idea to remove people with a manic conception of their driving capabilities from endangering people with more sensible driving disciplines. These exclusive highways will soon be littered with the corpses of people with little sense of what safe driving should be and thereby remove a terrible danger from society in general. The laws of evolution should thereby make humanity a bit saner.
Too grandiose. We already have an interstate highway system, and local control over the speed limit. Also, a system like that proposed above wouldn't serve most of the country. If you want faster highways, focus on raising the speed-limit in your state.
there's Sand again, no consideration for people holding down a job and with less spare time on their hands than he does.
Just raise or remove the speed limits from all the highways that meet straightness requirements. At the same time,(well, before) require additional training for driving, especially on the highways.
I've driven on the autobahn, and it was nice and fun.
