It would be great if cars had a feature that would block all incoming and outgoing signals from cell phones while the vehicle is running. Or perhaps while the vehicle is in motion.

Am I the only one who hates ppl talking on the phone and driving at the same time. The headphones aren't doing a good enough job IMO.

Who would buy these cars?Cell phones can be important in an emergency and can be used responsibly. This is too blunt.

There is currently a product that is able to block cell phone use within a certain radius. I feel that it should be mandated in all cars immediately! The only exceptions should be for the use of 911 in an emergency, and I'm sure that the exception could be programmed into the device. In all other cases, drivers should have to pull over and stop the engine to allow a cell phone to be activated. As far as the argument that the passenger should have the right to place calls, sometimes it's necessary to restrict one person's activity to insure the safety of others.

To stop in coming mobile calls whilst driving is an important safety facility but the driver needs to know that a call has been made to that phone. Perhaps the phone makers and service providers should have a phone mode that tells a caller that the person who's phone is being called is driving, his phone logs the call date and time and then gives the driver a one button command to phone back the last caller when they safely stop. More than one call entry would be placed in a log file on the phone that the now stationary driver can call in sequence. Blocking calls to a car would stop passaengers from using their phones.
