I think it would be pure genius to create a web site and let ppl give out some of the best ideas ever so that someone else with enough power to do so, take those ideas and make them reality not to mention filling thier pockets and not giving anything back to the person who had the idea.

Well, you may be right. However, most people like to think and give out ideas but they are unable to develop. Moreover, sometimes they do not believe that indeed their ideas are good enough.
However, mostly of the brightest ideas come from previous ideas that came up in the past. Example: fax machine..
